Master Cylinder Reservoir ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Clean the outside of the brake master cylinder reservoir and the reservoir cap (1).
2. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector.
3. Remove the reservoir cap.
4. Remove the cap seal.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in Service Precautions.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Remove the brake fluid with the syringe.
6. Remove the screw that retains the reservoir to the master cylinder.
7. Remove the reservoir from the master cylinder.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the reservoir to the master cylinder.
2. Ensure the reservoir screw hole aligns with the master cylinder screw hole.
3. Install the screw.
4. Fill the reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
5. Install the cap seal.
6. Install the cap (1).
7. Inspect the master cylinder for fluid leakage.
