Accelerator Control Cable Replacement

Accelerator Controls:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Left instrument panel sound insulator.
2. Accelerator cable from accelerator pedal.
3. Squeeze accelerator cable cover tangs and push cable through bulkhead.
4. Accelerator cable shield.
5. Accelerator cable from retaining clip.
6. Accelerator cable from throttle body lever.
7. Accelerator cable from accelerator bracket.

Note: To prevent possible interference, flexable components (hoses, wires, conduits,) must not be routed within 50mm (2 in) of moving parts, unless routing is positively controlled.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Accelerator cable through dash panel (bulkhead). Snap retainer through dash panel.
2. Accelerator cable through slot in accelerator pedal lever. Seat retainer in lever.
3. Accelerator cable to throttle body lever.
4. Accelerator cable to accelerator cable bracket.
5. Accelerator cable into retaining clip.

Note: Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. Throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.

6. Left instrument panel sound insulator.
7. Accelerator cable shield.
