P0200
DTC P0200 Injector Circuit Fault Diagnostic Chart:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the fuel injectors using a General FET Driver (GFD). The GFD had the ability to detect an electrical fault on any of the injector feed or control circuits. If a fault is detected, the GFD signals the PCM to set Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0200.
DTC P0200 WILL SET WHEN
^ Incorrect voltage level is being detected on an injector circuit.
^ Above condition for over 5 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN (PCM WILL DEFAULT TO)
With a current DTC P0200 set, the PCM will illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL).
DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbers below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Ensures that no fault exists in the injector control and ignition feed wiring.
2. Checks for an open or grounded injector ignition feed circuit.
3. Checks for an grounded injector driver circuit.
4. Checks for an open injector driver circuit.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire broken inside the insulation.
Check for:
^ Poor connection or damaged harness - Inspect PCM harness connectors for backed out terminals for injector drivers, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal to wire connection, and damaged harness.
^ Intermittent test - Monitor a digital voltmeter connected from affected terminal to ground while moving related connectors and wiring harness. If the failure is induced, the voltage reading will change.
