Clutch Cable: Adjustments

PROCEDURE

1. Measure the distance from the center of the clutch pedal to the outer edge of the steering wheel and record measurement.

2. Fully depress the clutch pedal. Measure the distance between the clutch pedal and steering wheel and record measurement.
3. Subtract the first measurement from the second measurement to determine clutch pedal travel. The specification range is 138 to 146 mm (5.43 to 5.71 in).

4. If not within specifications, remove clip (2) and adjust the cable nut (4) to bring the travel to within specification.
5. Install clip (2).

NOTES:
^ With the correct adjustment, the clutch pedal will be higher than the brake pedal and there will be no free-play in the clutch pedal operation.

^ As the clutch lining wears, the clutch pedal will move further toward the driver.
