Water Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 22 Water Pump Mounting:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain engine coolant.
2. Remove serpentine drive belt, then disconnect radiator and heater hose.
3. Remove water pump attaching bolts, then the water pump, Fig. 22.
4. Reverse procedure to install. noting the following:
a. Clean water pump mating surfaces.
b. Torque water pump attaching bolts to 89 inch lbs.
