Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Fig. 10 Oil Pan Replace:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove windshield wiper motor.
3. Remove ignition module.
4. Raise and support front of vehicle, then drain engine oil from crankcase.
5. Remove exhaust crossover pipe.
6. Remove torque converter cover.
7. Remove engine mount through bolts, then raise and support engine.
8. Remove transmission oil cooler line bracket from oil pan stud.
9. Remove nut retaining electrical wiring harness bracket to oil pan stud.
10. Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then remove oil pan and gasket, Fig. 10.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Prime turbocharger with engine oil prior to operating vehicle, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/PRIMING TURBOCHARGER WITH ENGINE OIL for procedure.
