Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Fig. 15 Oil Pan Replace:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air cleaner.
2. Remove distributor cap and position aside.
3. Remove upper portion of fan shroud.
4. Raise and support vehicle, then drain crankcase.
5. Remove flywheel housing dust cover.
6. Disconnect exhaust pipes at exhaust manifold.
7. Remove starter motor.
8. Remove engine mount through bolts, then raise engine slightly permit oil pan removal using a suitable lifting device.
9. Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then remove oil pan, Fig. 15.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
