Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Depressurize accumulator, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/DEPRESSURIZING HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR procedure, then remove brake fluid from fluid reservoir.
3. Disconnect pressure switch and pump motor electrical connectors.
4. Remove hydraulic accumulator and O-ring.
5. Remove high pressure hose fitting connected to pump, then the pressure hose assembly and O-rings.
6. Remove wire clip and pull return hose fitting out of pump body.
7. Remove pump and motor assembly to main body attaching bolt and insulator grommets.
8. Remove pump and motor assembly by sliding off of locating pin.
9. Check insulators for damage or deterioration. Replace as required.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Reactivate Delco-Loc radios by turning ignition and radio to the On position, then pressing the Mute button on the steering wheel control.
