Oil Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable
2. Serpentine belt cover and belt
3. Belt tensioner
4. Support engine with J 28467-A using an extra support leg.
5. Raise vehicle.
6. Drain engine oil.
7. Right tire and wheel assembly
8. Right splash shield
9. Steering gear pinch bolt
10. Transaxle mount retaining nuts
11. Engine to frame mount retaining nuts
12. Front engine horse collar bracket from block
13. Outboard flywheel/starter plastic shield
14. Inboard flywheel metal shield
15. Starter and hang from body
16. Place jackstand under frame front center crossmember.
17. Loosen rear frame bolts - DO NOT REMOVE.
18. Front frame bolts and lower front of frame
19. DIS sensor wire
20. Oil pan retaining bolts
21. Oil pan retaining nuts
22. Oil pan
CLEAN
^ Oil pan flanges
^ Oil pan rail
^ Timing Cover
^ Rear main bearing cap
^ Threaded holes
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New gasket
2. Oil pan
3. Oil pan retaining nuts
4. Oil pan retaining bolts
5. DIS sensor wire
6. New frame to body bolts.
7. Remove jackstand.
8. Starter
9. Inboard flywheel metal shield
10. Outboard flywheel/starter plastic shield
11. Front engine horse collar bracket from block
12. Engine to frame mount retaining nuts
13. Transaxle mount retaining nuts
14. Steering gear pinch bolt
15. Right splash shield
16. Right tire and wheel assembly
17. Lower vehicle.
18. Remove engine support fixture.
19. Belt tensioner
20. Serpentine belt and belt cover
21. Fill crankcase with oil.
22. Negative battery cable
INSPECT
^ Proper fluid levels
^ Leaks
^ Completion of repair
