Clutch Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable




2. Measure threaded end of clutch cable at the release lever. Record measurement so that the new cable can be pre-adjusted.




3. Clutch cable at release lever by removing the clip(2) and nut(4).
4. Clutch start safety switch.




5. Clutch pedal by removing:
- return spring(12) at brace.
- spring(7).
- nut(8).
- washer(9).
- shaft(11).
- pedal(14).




6. Return spring(12) and clutch cable from pedal.
7. Clutch cable by pulling from engine compartment.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Clutch cable from engine compartment.
2. Place grommet(5) and washer(6) on clutch cable and install clutch cable and return spring(12) to pedal.
3. Position pedal to brace and install shaft(11) through brace and pedal.
4. Coat shaft with grease specification no. 1052349 or equivalent, before installing:
- washer(9).
- nut(4).
- spring(7).
- return spring(12) to brace.

5. Clutch start safety switch.
6. Clutch cable to release lever.
7. Nut(4) on cable, to the measurement taken during removal.
8. Adjust clutch cable and install clip(2).
9. Negative battery cable.
