Master Cylinder Removal and Installation
CAUTION: Brake fluid will damage electrical connections and painted surfaces. Use shop cloths, drip pans and fender covers to prevent brake fluid from contacting these areas.Exploded View Of Master Cylinder Assembly:
Removal:
1. Disconnect electrical connector from reservoir cap (1).
2. Remove brake lines from master cylinder body (5) and proportioning valves (10).
NOTE: Plug open lines to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
3. Remove two attaching nuts.
4. Remove master cylinder assembly.
Installation:
1. Install master cylinder assembly with new self locking nuts.
2. Tighten nuts to 18 Nm.m (13 lbs. ft.).
3. Connect brake lines to cylinder body (5) proportioning valves (10) and torque to 11 Nm (8 lbs. ft.).
4. Connect electrical connector to reservoir cap (1).
5. Fill reservoir with brake fluid.
6. Bleed brakes. Refer to Brakes/Service and Repair/Bleeding Procedure. Service and Repair
7. Recheck fluid level.
