Vacuum Pump: Testing and Inspection

1. Measure length of vanes. Vanes should measure .511---.531 inch, or must be replaced.
2. Measure inside diameter of pump housing. Diameter should be 2.2440---2.2441 inches.
3. Apply light pressure to check valve with a screwdriver and ensure smooth operation of valve.
4. Inspect inner face of rear cover for signs of oil leakage and inspect oil seal for excessive wear or damage.
5. If rear seal requires replacement, remove old seal from rear cover side with a screwdriver and install new seal with seal installer.
