Removing Fuel Tank

Fuel Tank Insulators And Tank Mounting:

Fuel Level Sender Installation:

Fuel Pump/Fuel Gauge Sending Unit (typical):

1. Remove all fuel.
2. Support fuel tank and disconnect the two fuel tank retaining straps.
3. Lower tank enough to disconnect sending unit wire, hoses, and ground strap, if so equipped.
4. Remove tank from vehicle.
5. Remove sending unit.

Installing Fuel Tank

1. Reverse removal procedure.
2. Always replace O-ring when tank unit has been removed.
3. When reinstalling fuel tank, be sure to reinstall anti-squeak poeces on top of the tank to reduce rattles and other annoying noises.
4. Tighten fuel tank retaining strap bolts or screws.
