This bulletin is being revised to add artwork. Please discard bulletin 88-6-49 dated 5/88.

SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE

A revised bolt tightening procedure has been developed to provide a more uniform clamp load on the balancer assembly.

The following procedure supersedes the existing service procedure.

Reference figure:

1. Snug bolts to 12 N-m (9 ft.lbs.) in the following sequence:
3-1-2-4.
2. Following the same sequence, tighten the short bolts to 20 N-m (15 ft.lbs.) plus 60 degrees (one flat of the bolt head) and the long bolts to 15 N-m. (11 ft.lbs.) plus 90 degrees (one and a half flats).
