Mainshaft Assemble

1. With rear of mainshaft facing upward, install second speed gear with clutching teeth upward. The rear face of gear will butt against flange of mainshaft.

2. Install blocker rings with clutching teeth downward over synchronizing surface of second speed gear. All blocker rings are identical.

3. Install first and second synchronizer assembly with fork slot downward and press onto mainshaft splines until bottomed. Both synchronizers are identical. Ensure that notches of blocker ring align with keys of synchronizer assembly.




4. Install 1-2 synchronizer hub to mainshaft snap ring, then install blocker ring with notches downward, so that they are aligned with keys of first and second synchronizer assembly.

5. Install first speed gear with clutch in teeth downward, then install rear ball bearing with snap ring groove downward and press onto shaft. The bearing used on the mainshaft is shielded and the one used on the clutch gear is not. These bearings should not be intermixed.

6. With front of mainshaft facing upward, install third speed gear with clutching teeth upward. The front face of gear will butt against mainshaft flange.

7. Install blocker ring with clutching teeth downward over synchronizer surface of third speed gear, then install third and fourth synchronizer assembly with fork slot facin downward. Ensure that notches of blocker ring align with keys of synchronizer assembly.




8. Install 3-4 synchronizer hub to mainshaft snap ring, and install blocker ring with notches downward to align with keys of the 3-4 synchronizer.
