200/200C Automatic Transmission

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air cleaner.

2. Disconnect T.V. cable from throttle, then remove filler tube.

3. Raise and support vehicle.

4. Remove propeller shaft and disconnect catalytic converter to transmission bracket.

5. Disconnect speedometer cable and T.C.C. electrical connector.

6. Remove torque arm to transmission bolts. When arm is disconnected from transmission, rear spring force will cause torque arm to move toward the floor pan.

WARNING: When disconnecting the arm, carefully place a piece of wood between the floor pan and torque arm to avoid personal injury and damage to the floor pan.

7. Remove flywheel cover and converter to flywheel attaching bolts. Mark flywheel and converter for reference.

8. Support transmission with a suitable jack, then remove transmission rear mount bolt and crossmember.

9. Lower transmission slightly and remove T.V. cable and oil cooler lines.

10. Support engine using tool BT-6424 or equivalent and remove transmission to engine bolts.

11. Remove transmission from vehicle.

12. Reverse procedure to install.
