Wiper Motor Assembly Replacement

Important: Because of the motor bracket design, the wiper motor assembly can be removed from the vehicle without removing the complete wiper drive system module. Figures 13 and 14 show the wiper motor assembly being detached from the module bracket while off the vehicle.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Electrical connector from the wiper motor assembly (15).
3. Using 8 mm socket, loosen two screws (16) until drive link socket releases from crank arm ball of wiper motor assembly (Figure 13).

Important: Do not removed cranks arm from wiper motor assembly.

4. Three screws (17) using 10 mm socket.
5. Slide wiper motor assembly out of slot in bracket.

Install or Connect

Notice: See fastener notice.

Important: Wiper motor assembly (15) must be in park position.

1. Wiper motor assembly on mounting bracket with three screws (17). Tighten screws (17) to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.).
2. Drive link socket on crank arm ball of wiper motor assembly. Tighten two screws (16) to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.).
3. Wiper motor electrical connector.
4. Negative battery cable.
