Rear A/C






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Heater core, refer to Heater Core / Service and Repair.
3. Retaining screws and drain case(1139) from evaporator and blower module(1115).
4. Screws attaching heater and A/C evaporator blower cover case(1140) to heater and A/C evaporator case(1121).
5. Rear compartment outlet (beltline-horizontal) duct seal from top of two case halves.
6. Separate heater and A/C evaporator blower cover case(1140) from heater and A/C evaporator case(1121).




7. Evaporator core inlet tube filling from thermal expansion valve(1144).
8. Thermal expansion valve capillary tube retaining clip from evaporator core outlet tube.
9. Evaporator core from heater and A/C evaporator blower cover case.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Clean refrigerant fittings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
Do not allow refrigerant oil to enter A/C system.

2. Evaporator core into heater and A/C evaporator blower cover case.

3. Thermal expansion valve capillary tube to evaporator core outlet tube with retaining clip.
Make certain that the thermal expansion valve capillary tube is attached to the horizontal mid-point of the evaporator core outlet tube.

4. Evaporator core inlet tube fitting to the thermal expansion valve inlet tube.
Tighten fitting to 37 Nm (27 lb. ft.).

5. Heater and A/C evaporator blower cover case to heater and A/C evaporator case and tighten attaching screws to 3 Nm (27 lb. in.).

6. Rear compartment outlet (beltline-horizontal) duct seal to top of two case halves.
7. Heater core.
8. Refill engine coolant.
9. Recharge A/C system.
