Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Fig. 16 Oil Pan Removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Install engine support fixture and adapter tool Nos. J 28467-A, J 28467-90 and J 28467-200, or equivalents.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Drain engine oil.
5. Remove oil filter drip shield bolts and shield.
6. Remove exhaust pipe from manifold.
7. Place jackstands under frame at front and rear.
8. Remove engine mount to frame nuts.
9. Remove transaxle mounts to frame nuts.
10. Loosen but do not remove rear frame bolts.
11. Remove front frame bolts and lower front of frame.
12. Remove engine mount.
13. Remove engine mount bracket.
14. Remove starter.
15. Remove transaxle brace.
16. Disconnect oil level wiring harness connector.
17. Remove oil pan side bolts, Fig. 16.
18. Remove oil pan bottom bolts.
19. Remove oil pan.
20. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications.
