Pistons and rings are available in standard sizes and oversizes of 0.010 inch. Piston pins are supplied with the piston and are available in standard size only, Fig. 13.

To check piston fit in bore, measure bore diameter using suitable telescoping gauges and record reading. Measure piston across skirt at a point 1/4 inch below piston pin center line and record reading. Subtract piston diameter from bore diameter. If measurement in between specified clearance of 0.0013-0.0027 inch, piston is acceptable. If not within specifications, cylinder bore must be reconditioned and new oversized piston must be fitted.
