Door Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
DOOR LOCK CYLINDERREMOVAL
1. Remove front door trim panel and watershield as necessary to gain access to the outside door handle.
2. Roll door glass up.

3. Through access hole at rear of inner door panel, disconnect Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) switch from back of lock cylinder (Fig. 8).
4. Remove outside door handle for easier access to lock cylinder.
5. Remove lock linkage from lock cylinder link arm.

6. Disengage clip attaching lock cylinder into outside handle (Fig. 9).
7. Pull lock cylinder from door handle.
INSTALLATION
1. With link arm toward front of vehicle, push lock cylinder into door handle until clip snaps into place.
NOTE: Verify that the cylinder is fully seated in position before continuing installation.
2. Engage clip into outside handle attaching lock cylinder.
NOTE: New replacement link arms are marked for left and right designation. The latch end of the link will either be red-right side, or black-left side. If links are not being replaced, mark the correct link arms accordingly.
3. Insert lock linkage into lock cylinder link arm and connect clip.
4. Connect vehicle theft alarm (VTSS) switch onto back of lock cylinder.
5. Install outside door handle.
6. Install watershield and door trim panel, switches and bezel.
7. Verify door lock operation.
