Rear Bumper: Service and Repair

REAR BUMPER

REMOVAL

1. Hoist and support vehicle to gain access to rear bumper bolts. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

2. Disconnect rear bumper wire connector (Fig. 2).
3. Remove inboard and outboard bolts attaching rear bumper to frame (Fig. 2).
4. Remove rear bumper from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position rear bumper on vehicle.
2. Loosely install bolts attaching rear bumper and tapping plate to frame.
3. Connect rear bumper wire connector.
4. Ensure that the bumper is positioned correctly before tightening bolts.
5. tighten bots to 25 N.m (19 ft.lbs.) torque.
