Safing Sensor Open

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously with the ignition on.

SET CONDITION
When the internal safing sensor circuit becomes open or a (driver or passenger) airbag line #2 circuit at the ACM is shorted and the airbag line #1 circuit is open.

THEORY OF OPERATION
This code is usually set due to an internal open circuit in the airbag control module. However, if one of the airbag line #2 circuit become grounded and at the same time the airbag line #1 (or the other end of airbag line #2) circuit becomes open, this code will set.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Defective airbag control module
- Shorted airbag line #2 circuit and open circuit on airbag line #1
