DR-36 Driveability Problems Not Related to Engine Controls


If upon completion of all previous diagnostic procedures, the original driveability problem still exists, check the following items:

1. Ensure engine vacuum is at least 13 inches at idle in Neutral.
2. Check valve timing.
3. Check engine compression.
4. Check engine cooling system.
5. Ensure exhaust system is free of any restrictions.
6. Inspect PCV system.
7. Check fuel pump pressure volume and vacuum.
8. Check engine drive sprockets.
9. Ensure torque converter stall speed is at specifications.
10. Inspect power brake booster for vacuum leaks.
11. Check for fuel contamination such as high alcohol and water content.
12. Check carburetor for contamination of any circuits and all items to specifications not covered in the test procedure.
13. Any technical bulletins that may apply to vehicle.
