Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Reduce the internal pressure of the fuel pipes and hoses by completing the following operations:
a. Remove the rear seat cushion and carpet. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.
b. Start and run the engine until it stalls, then turn the ignition switch to OFF.
c. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
d. Connect the fuel pump harness connector.

Injection Mixer And Components:

2. Remove the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator.
3. Remove the mounting bolts, then remove the fuel pressure regulator.

INSTALLATION

Fuel Pressure Regulator Installation:

1. When connecting the fuel pressure regulator to the fuel injection mixer, apply light oil or fuel to the O-ring and then insert, being careful not to damage the O-ring.
2. After replacement of the fuel pressure regulator, check for leaks with the system pressurized.
