The method of sealing the manual transaxle case has been changed. The gasket previously used has been replaced with a Formed-In-Place (F.I.P.) gasket. Use Mopar RTV Sealer, PN 4318025, for the new F.I.P. gasket.
FIGURE 1 - TRANSAXLE CASE:
The main changes between "up to" and "after" parts to accept F.I.P. gaskets are:
1. Transaxle case (Figure 1).
a. Overall length of case has been increased by 0.2 mm (0.008 in.) to take gasket thickness into account.
b. Identification mark "A" has been embossed near the bottom of the boss of the intermediate gear.
FIGURE 2 - ADAPTER:
2. Adapter (Figure 2).
a. The adapter length has been increased by 0.2 mm (0.008 in.) to take gasket thickness into account.
b. A through hole has been added to the top of the differential adapter.
FIGURE 3:

Interchangeability is provided between the "up to" and "after" parts if all of the parts are replaced simultaneously (Figure 3 - Chart). Do not interchange the parts individually.
