Report, Parts Return & Unit Unavailable Info
Completion Reporting and ReimbursementWhen a vehicle has been serviced, submit the claim using the DIAL System (Function 54) or Copy 2 of the Claim Form for our record of completion and for your payment. If neither of these methods is available, the claim may be submitted on a WRO. (See Chapter 6, Warranty Policy and Procedure Manual, for complete claim processing instructions.)
If using a WRO, enter this one claim on it only. Fill in the labor operation number and time allowance and identify the claim as "Recall #388 -- Engine Timing and EGR System". Do not enter other service claims on the same WRO.
Use one of the following labor operation numbers and time allowances:
Labor Operation Time
Number Allowance
Reset engine timing, inspect EGR system. 25388182 0.3 hour
Reset engine timing, inspect and clean 25388183 1.1 Hours
EGR system.
Note: If EGR valve replacement was required for a vehicle within the warranty limits, file a separate warranty claim for that portion of the service only, in addition to the above recall claim. See Service Procedure, Section B, Step 10.
If purchased parts were used, add their cost plus a 25% parts allowance to your claim.
Parts Return
If the EGR valve has been replaced, abide by material return requirements as specified by your E.P.U.R. classification.
