Cold Start Injector: Description and Operation
Cold Start Injector:
PURPOSE AND LOCATION
At cold start, a lot of fuel condenses on the cold surfaces of the intake system in form of droplets. Having a separate cold start injector ensures that enough evaporated fuel reaches the combustion chamber for improved cold starting performance. The injector is located in the intake manifold.
CONSTRUCTION
The cold start injector consists of a fuel filter (screen) and a solenoid valve. The solenoid valve opens when energized and closes when without current.
