Front Brake Pads

Fig. 3 Disc Brake Wear Wire:

1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. Drain a portion of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir.
3. Disconnect brake wear wire, then remove bolt (1) while holding guide (2), Fig. 3.
4. Swing caliper up on its remaining mounting bolt and remove brake pads.
5. Check for leaks around piston, seal, boots and holes.
6. Check wear on old disc and proper sliding action of piston. Replace all parts showing wear or damage.
7. Clean and inspect piston surface, caliper and disc. Push piston back to the end of its travel.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
