Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove steering wheel.

2. Carefully pry off three plugs using a small screwdriver and remove bolts (8). Fig. 1.

3. Remove instrument cluster visor, radio and two front screws (9) on forward section of center console. Fig. 2.
4. Loosen screws (10) and remove steering column covers.

5. Remove RH and LH side panels, then the center console storage compartment (11). Fig. 3.
6. Remove ashtray, then the screws (12, 13 and 14). Fig. 3.
7. Remove windshield wiper switch without disconnecting.
8. Disconnect dash panel electrical connectors.

9. Remove instrument cluster filler strip (15) and screws (16). Fig. 4.
10. Tilt instrument cluster forward and disconnect electrical connectors.
11. Disconnect speedometer and lift instrument cluster clear of dash panel.

12. Remove screws (17 and 19) and hood release bolts (20). Fig. 5. Loosen driver's underdash panel screw (18) 1/4 turn.

13. Disconnect fuse panel connectors (A and B) and relays below steering column. Fig. 6.
14. Disconnect both side dash harness connectors and ground connector located on RH kickpanel.
Fig. 7 Ground & Reinforcement Bolt Removal:
15. Remove dash panel reinforcement bolt (2), Fig. 7, and bolts securing plenum chamber to dash panel.

16. Remove dash panel mounting bolts (4, 5 and 6). Fig. 8.
17. Remove strut (7) secured at (8) to lower dash panel and at (9) to gear shift support. Fig. 8.
18. Move speedometer cable, cluster harness and heater/air conditioner control panel. Remove dash panel from vehicle.
19. Reverse procedure to install. Torque steering wheel nut to 22 ft. lbs.
