Nominal clearances with engine cold are .004 inch for intake valves and .010 inch for exhaust valves. Bring No. 1 cylinder piston to TDC to adjust intake valves on cylinders 1, 2, and 4 and exhaust valves on cylinders 1, 3, and 6. Bring No. 5 cylinder piston to TDC to adjust intake valves on cylinders 3, 5, and 6 and exhaust valves on cylinders 2, 4, and 5. Refer to Fig. 38.
