Oil Level Check
Fig. 1 Vacuum pump oil level check:
1. Rotate crankshaft until arrow (1), Fig. 1, aligns with pump centerline.
2. Remove plug (2), Fig. 1, and add clean engine oil as necessary to top off oil level in pump. The vacuum pump will not normally consume any oil. If it is necessary to add oil to pump, the problem should be located and corrected prior to returning pump to service.
3. Install plug, using new seal if necessary. When installing plug into pump, the pump must be positioned as described in step 1 to provide maximum pump efficiency.
