Subject: EGR TESTER WITH ADAPTER HARNESS FOR 1984/85 TURBO DIESELS
To adapt the existing EGR tester, P.N. 0090.23, for troubleshooting in the 1984/85 California and the 1985 50 state Turbo diesel EGR systems, use the adapter harness, P.N. 0090.26 connected as shown below. Refer to your 505 workshop manual or service bulletin 133 class 1 for vehicle harness connections and troubleshooting chart.
Tester red wire to pin 4 of the 6 pin connector
Tester white wire to pin 5 of the 6 pin connector
Tester green wire to pin 6 of the 6 pin connector
Note: On the 1984 California and 1985 50 state system, the yellow wire of the tester is not used.
The piggy-back terminals to the tester should be inserted into the 6 pin connector in such a way as to protect them for use on earlier EGR systems (80 to 83 XD2C, 81 to 84 XD2S).
