Radios, Clarion - Description & Installation

83peugeot01 Bulletin No. 109

Date: March, 1983
Subject: 505 RADIO INSTALLATION - CLARION RADIOS

We are pleased to announce the approval of Clarion radios for installation in the 505 "S", STI, and Silver Edition vehicles. The radios involved are the SPEC II, and 9300 T & TB models. Both of these models are AM/FM cassette players with electronic tuning.

The following wiring diagrams have been provided which correspond to the vehicle harness.
On the SPEC II radio, the power booster is mounted above the hood release handle support.

On the 9300T radio, the power booster is mounted on the lower left dash panel in the location of the cruise control box. On those vehicles equipped with cruise control, the control box is repositioned above the hood release handle support.

In both cases, the wires are run toward the radio head, over the steering column housing between the brace and the bracket (Photo 1), then over to console area, behind left upper mounting stud (Photo 2).

Specific operation numbers will be assigned in the Repair Time Schedule very shortly and forwarded as an update.
Note: Whenever lower left dash panel is removed and/or radio is removed, always remember to wire tie all excess wires to prevent them from getting pinched in the lower steering column which would cause the radio/booster assembly to be inoperative.
