Electro Valve Test

Fig. 9 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.:

1. Turn ignition to ON position.
2. Disconnect wire 146 from electro valve, Fig. 9.
3. Connect a jumper wire to the electro valve.
4. Alternately ground the jumper wire. A "clicking" noise should be heard coming from the electro valve every time the jumper wire is grounded. If not, connect an ohmmeter to the electro valve and measure resistance. Resistance should be 40 ohms. If a resistance reading of infinity is obtained, replace electro valve.
