Clutch Pedal Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: Service the clutch pedal and bracket as an assembly.

1. Remove the sound insulator from inside the vehicle.





2. Remove the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the clutch pedal position switch.
4. Remove the clutch pedal position switch from the bracket.
5. Remove the instrument panel support beam.
6. Remove the instrument panel support beam bracket bolt.





7. Disconnect the cruise control switch.





8. Remove the clutch pedal and bracket mounting nuts.
9. Remove the clutch pedal and bracket assembly.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the clutch pedal and bracket assembly.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the clutch pedal and bracket mounting nuts.
Tighten. Start with the lower nuts tighten the nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the instrument support bracket bolt.
4. Install the instrument panel support beam.
5. Install the clutch master cylinder pushrod bushing on the pedal. Lubricate the bushing.
6. Install the clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal.
7. Install the cruise control switch.





8. Connect the electrical connector to the clutch pedal position switch.
9. Adjust the clutch pedal position switch.
10. Install the sound insulator.
