Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement Service and Repair
2. Remove bolts from the Data Link Connector.
3. Remove the hood release lever. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement (Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement) in Body Front End.
4. Remove SIR connector clip.




5. Remove the bolts from the knee bolster bracket.




6. Remove the instrument panel knee bolster bracket from the instrument panel.


Installation Procedure




1. Install the instrument panel knee bolster bracket to the instrument panel.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts to the instrument panel knee bolster bracket.

Tighten the instrument panel knee bolster bracket bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

3. Install SIR connector clip.
4. Install bolts to the data link connector.

Tighten the data link connector bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Install the hood release lever. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement (Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement) in Body Front End.
6. Install the instrument panel steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement Service and Repair
