Air Temperature Door Replacement - Right

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the HVAC module.
2. Remove the right air temperature actuator.
3. Remove the air inlet housing retaining screws.
4. Remove the air inlet housing.
5. Remove the HVAC module upper mounting screws.
6. Release the retaining tab (1) securing the HVAC module halves.
7. Separate the upper and lower module halves. Carefully pull the air temperature doors apart in the center to remove the air temperature doors form the HVAC module case.




8. Remove the HVAC module seal that is located between the upper and lower cases (2).
9. Remove the air temperature door, if equipped with CJ2. Carefully align the air temperature doors into the HVAC module assembly case.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the air temperature door.
2. Install the new case seal (2) to the HVAC module case (1).
3. Wet the upper evaporator core seal with water.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the condition of the retaining tab on the upper module case prior to installing the lower module case. If the retaining tab is broken or damaged, install an external retaining clip (P/N 52458793, or equivalent).




4. Align and install the upper module case to the lower module case.
Align and secure the retaining tab (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the HVAC module upper mounting screws.

Tighten
Tighten the HVAC module upper mounting screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

6. Install the air inlet housing.
7. Install the air inlet housing retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the air inlet housing retaining screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

8. Install the right air temperature actuator.
9. Install the HVAC module.
