Primary Camshaft Drive Chain ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner shoe.
2. Remove the camshaft position sensor.
Important: Do not allow the primary camshaft drive chain to fall into the crankcase.
3. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain from the following:
3.1. The crankshaft sprocket.
3.2. The right intake sprocket.
3.3. The left intake sprocket.
4. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain from the front cover area.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not allow the primary camshaft drive chain to fall into the crankcase.
1. Install the primary camshaft drive chain into the front cover area.
2. Position the primary camshaft drive chain to the following:
2.1. The crankshaft sprocket.
2.2. The balance shaft sprocket.
2.3. The right intake sprocket.
2.4. The left intake sprocket.
3. Set the camshaft timing.
4. Install the camshaft position sensor. Install the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner shoe.
