Steering Wheel Control Switches Replacement - 2

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Restraint Systems.
3. Remove the screws from the steering wheel control switch.




4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the steering wheel control switch.
5. Remove the steering wheel control switch from the steering wheel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector to the steering wheel control switch.
2. Position the steering wheel control switch to the steering wheel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Install the screws to the steering wheel control switch.

Tighten
Tighten the steering wheel control switch screws to 2 N.m (19 lb in).

4. Inspect the operation of the steering wheel control switch.
5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
