Automatic Transmission Brace Replacement
Removal ProcedureCaution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Steering and Suspension.
4. Remove the right (rear) engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Front) or Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Rear) in Engine.
5. Remove the four transaxle brace bolts.
6. Remove the transaxle brace.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the transaxle brace.
2. Hand start the bolts to the engine block and oil pan.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the transaxle brace bolts.
^ Tighten the transaxle brace bolts to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the right (rear) engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Front) or Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Rear) in Engine.
5. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Steering and Suspension.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
