SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble

Assembly Procedure





1. To install the SIR coil assembly:
Align the block tooth on race and upper shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o'clock position.





2. Install the wave washer (1) to the race and upper shaft assembly (2).
3. If using original SIR coil assembly, refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle (column shift And Floor Shift).





4. Align the SIR coil assembly (4) with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1). The new SIR coil assembly will be precentered. Pull the tab and remove.

Important: The retaining ring (3) must seat securely on the groove of the race and upper shaft assembly (2).

5. Install the retaining ring (3).





6. Pop the wire harness assembly (1) into the wire harness strap (2).





7. Install 1 wire harness strap (2) into the steering column tilt head assembly (1). Install wire harness straps (2) onto the wire harness assembly.
8. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle.
