Filler Tube ReplacementREMOVAL PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Cover and Plug Openings Notice in Service Precautions.
IMPORTANT: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing the fuel system components.
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure. Service and Repair
CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel tank.
4. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel filler pipe
5. Remove the fuel filler hose.
6. Disconnect the vapor recirculation line at the fuel filler pipe.
7. Remove the fuel filler pipe underbody attaching screw.
8. Remove the filler pipe access panel attaching screws.
9. Remove the fuel filler pipe from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the fuel filler pipe.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the filler pipe attaching screws to the filler pipe access panel.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
3. Install the filler pipe attaching screw to the underbody.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 10 N.m (8 lb ft).
4. Connect the vapor recirculation line at the fuel tiller pipe.
5. Install the fuel filler hose.
6. Install the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel tank.
7. Install the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel filler pipe.
8. Ensure the tiller hose (4) is fully seated on the fuel tank port and the fuel filler pipe (2).
9. Ensure the clamp (1) is correctly located on the tank port between the bead (5) and the tank (3).
Tighten
Tighten the hose clamps to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
12. Install the fuel filler cap.
13. Perform the following procedure to inspect for leaks:
13.1. Inspect turn the ignition switch to the ON position for 2 seconds.
13.2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position for 10 seconds.
13.3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position again.
13.4. Visually inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks.
14. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
