Condenser Tube Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Remove the vacuum brake booster.
4. Remove the liquid line from the bracket.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
6. Remove the lower air deflector.
7. Remove the liquid line nut at the condenser.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
10. Remove the liquid line nut at the orifice.
11. Disconnect the transmission shift cable retainer at the strut tower and position aside the transmission shift cable.
IMPORTANT: Use care when removing the tube.
12. Remove the condenser tube.
13. Remove and discard the O-rings.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Coat the new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
1. Install the new O-rings onto the liquid line.
2. Install the condenser tube into place.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the liquid line nut at the orifice.
Tighten
Tighten the liquid line nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
6. Install the liquid line nut at the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the liquid line nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
7. Install the lower air deflector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Route the transmission shift cable into position and connect the transmission shift cable retainer at the strut tower.
10. Install the liquid line into the bracket.
11. Install the vacuum brake booster.
12. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
13. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
14. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
