Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the left front diagonal brace.
3. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
4. Remove the compressor hose nut (1) from the accumulator and disconnect the compressor line.




5. Remove the compressor line nut from the condenser and disconnect the compressor hose.




6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
7. Remove the lower air deflector.
8. Remove the compressor hose nut at the compressor.

IMPORTANT: Remove and discard all the used O-rings and sealing washers.




9. Remove the compressor hose assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Coat the new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.




1. Install the new O-rings and sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly.
2. Install the compressor hose assembly.




3. Install the compressor hose assembly at the rear of the compressor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the compressor hose assembly nut.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).




5. Install the lower air deflector.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.
8. Install the compressor hose nut.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).




9. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
10. Install the compressor hose nut (1) onto the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

11. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
12. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
13. Install the left front diagonal brace.
14. Connect the negative battery cable.
