79. Oil Pump Suction Pipe and Screen Assembly Installation

1. Install a NEW 0-ring seal (3) on the oil pump pipe and screen tube end. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil GM P/N 12345501 or equivalent.
2. Install the oil pump and screen (1).
2.1. Place the oil pump pipe and screen support tab on the stud end main bearing bolt.
2.2. Press the oil pump pipe and screen tube end into the oil pump.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the bolt (4) into the oil pump.
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
4. Install the nut (2) on the stud of the main bearing bolt.
Tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
