Rear Compartment Lid Latch Striker Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement).
4. Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the lock striker to the rear compartment.
5. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel inside bolts.
6. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Service and Repair) in Bumpers.
7. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel outside bolts.
8. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker from the rear body panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the rear compartment lid lock striker to the alignment marks on the rear body panel.
Important: Do not tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel bolts directly after installation to allow for proper adjustment of the rear compartment lid lock striker.
2. Install the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel bolts.
3. Close the rear compartment to set adjustment of compartment lid.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
4. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel outside bolts.
Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel outside bolts to 16 Nm (12 lb ft).
Important: Due to sealer squeeze out on rear compartment lid lock striker bolts/screws, recheck fastener tightening specifications at least two times.
5. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker to rear body panel inside bolts.
Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker to body panel inside bolts to 16 Nm (12 lb ft).
6. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement).
7. Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Service and Repair) in Bumpers.
9. Close the rear compartment.
