Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open and support the rear compartment lid.

Notice: In order to avoid damaging the rear compartment strut, apply pressure at the strut end before removing or attaching the strut. Do not apply pressure to the mid-section of the rear compartment strut when removing or installing.

2. Use a small flat-bladed tool to remove the locking clip from the rear compartment lid strut upper ball stud.




3. Disconnect the rear compartment lid strut upper ball stud from the rear compartment lid.
4. Use a small flat-bladed tool to remove the locking clip from the rear compartment lid strut lower ball stud.
5. Disconnect the rear compartment lid strut lower ball stud from the rear compartment lid.
6. Remove the rear compartment lid strut from the rear compartment lid hinge.

Installation Procedure




1. Align the rear compartment lid strut to the rear compartment lid hinge.
2. Apply pressure to the rear compartment lid strut lower ball stud until fully seated.
3. Apply pressure to the rear compartment lid strut upper ball stud until fully seated.
4. Install the rear compartment lid strut upper and lower ball stud to rear compartment lid hinge locking clips.
5. Remove the rear compartment lid support.
6. Close the rear compartment.
