Heater Hose: Service and Repair
HEATER HOSE REPLACEMENTIMPORTANT: Inspect the heater hose routing installation. Avoid contact where rubbing may result in heater hose damage.
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the thermostat assembly by removing the clamp.
3. Slide the heat shield sleeve up on the outlet heater hose in order to access the connector.
4. Squeeze the tabs on the quick-connect in order to disconnect the outlet heater hose from the water pipe.
5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the water pipe.
6. Remove the inlet and outlet heater hose and clamps from the heater core.
7. Remove the heater hose assembly from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the heater hose assembly to the vehicle.
2. Install the inlet and outlet heater hose and clamps to the heater core.
3. Connect the outlet heater hose quick-connect to the water pipe.
4. Pull on the hose in order to verify the connection.
5. Position the heat shield sleeve over the quick-connector.
6. Connect the inlet heater hose to the thermostat housing.
7. Inspect the protective conduit on the heater hoses, is in the proper position in order to prevent damage to the heater hoses.
8. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
