63. Intake Manifold Installation

Notice: Never attempt to remove the intake manifold from a hot engine, allow the engine to cool to ambient temperature. The intake manifold is made of a composite plastic and can be damaged if it is removed when the engine is hot.





1. Install the new gasket with the numbers stamped on the gasket faced toward the manifold surface.
2. Install the intake manifold gasket. The gasket is reusable if the gasket is undamaged.





3. Install the intake manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





4. Install the intake manifold bolts and nuts. Follow the tightening sequence.
^ Tighten the bolts and nuts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).





5. Install the throttle body.
^ Tighten the bolts and nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
